At Flight Crowd, we believe the future of Aviation must be inclusive, innovative, and reflective of the diverse world we live in. But we also know that financial barriers too often stand in the way of young people pursuing their passions and taking those crucial first steps. 

 

That’s why we’re incredibly proud to launch the Flight Crowd's Scholarships! A new initiative to empower the next generation of leaders, creators, and changemakers in Aviation and Aerospace. 

 

These Scholarships go beyond financial support - they’re an investment in you and the future you’re helping to shape. Whether you’re exploring Sustainable Aviation, passionate about Future Flight technologies, or bringing creativity into STE(A)M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), we’re here to back your journey. 

 

FLIGHT CROWD'S 'NEXT STEPS' SCHOLARSHIP

 

These brand-new, flexible grants are aimed at empowering three individuals who show strong potential, purpose, and alignment with Flight Crowd’s mission: to build a more inclusive, innovative, and community-driven Aerospace industry, no matter your background or experience level.  

 

This Scholarship is here to help you take those next steps, in your own way.

 

Each winner will receive a personalised financial grant of either £500, £300, or £200 to support their goals. 

 

This could include:

  • Buying a laptop, flight sim gear, or specialist software

  • Funding travel or tickets to a Future Flight or Aviation event

  • Investing in a personal project, creative build, or STE(A)M initiative

  • Or anything else that helps bring your Aviation ambitions to life!​

SAXON AIR 'ELECTRIC FLIGHT EXPERIENCE'​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Flight Crowd is thrilled to be teaming up with Saxon Air to bring you the Saxon Air Award – an unforgettable opportunity to step into the future of Aviation!

​

Winners will enjoy an exclusive full-day experience at Saxon Air’s world-class Norwich facilities, including:

  • A unique flight experience in the world's first fully certified electric aircraft, Pipistrel Velis Electro

  • Hands-on learning about the exciting world of Electric Aviation

  • Expanding your knowledge and network within Future of Flight whilst exploring Saxon Air facilities

Immerse yourself in cutting edge Sustainable Aviation technology through Saxon Air’s dedicated and continued support of the next generation of Aviation Professionals.

SCHOLARSHIP FAQS

  1. Who can apply for the Scholarships? 

Our scholarships are open to all UK-based individuals aged 13 and over who are Flight Crowd members (Sign up here). We are looking for young people passionate about Future Flight, Sustainable Aviation, and/or STE(A)M.

 

Whether you’re building your first drone, participating in a coding course, training to support your technical Aviation skills, undertaking a college project or A-Level EPQ, or working on whatever’s next for your career growth, you belong here, and we’re excited for you to apply to our 'Next Steps' Scholarship! Similarly, the Saxon Air Award is open to all future aviators and those wanting to shape the sustainable skies of tomorrow.

  2. What are the eligibility requirements for the Scholarships?

This opportunity is open to students, aspiring professionals, and creatives aged 13+, based in the UK, who are Flight Crowd members (Sign up here).

 

What we’re looking for:

  • A clear interest in Future Flight, Sustainable Aviation, or STE(A)M

  • Alignment with Flight Crowd’s values of inclusion, accessibility, innovation, and community (Introduction to Flight Crowd and our values can be found here)

  • A thoughtful, realistic plan for how our Scholarship will support your development

 

  3. What can the Flight Crowd's ‘Next Steps’ Scholarship funds be used for?

The funds are meant to support your growth. That could mean buying a new laptop or software for your project, travelling to an Aerospace event or competition, accessing a course or resource that gets you closer to your goals, or something else related to Aviation - we would love to hear your ideas!

 

We wish to see you use it in a way that genuinely helps you take your next step. Here are some ideas on ways our Scholarship can give you a boost:

​

  • Project materials or prototyping tools: maybe you’re building a drone, model aircraft, or working on an Aerospace idea and need some key components to bring it to life.

  • Field visits or research trips: funding travel to an airport, museum, airshow, conference, or University open day that deepens your passion and supports your next step.

  • Accessibility support: whether that’s assistive tech or extra resources to make your project or learning experience more accessible to you - this matters a lot to us!

  • Flying lessons or certifications: from a trial flight or drone license to an Aviation Safety course, if it helps you move closer to your Aviation goals, we’re here for it.

  • Competitions or public speaking: like covering the cost of entering or travelling to a STEM fair, a young person's innovation showcase, or a pitching opportunity.

  • Content creation gear: if you’re starting an Aviation blog or YouTube channel, we can help with equipment like a camera or mic.

We’re all about helping early-career individuals take that realistic next step. It doesn’t need to be something extravagant - just achievable, meaningful, and something that genuinely helps you grow.

​

  4. Is this a one-off Scholarship or will there be more?

This is our very first Scholarship, which is very exciting! While we can’t guarantee future rounds just yet, we’re actively working with our industry partners to make this a regular opportunity. The more support we get, the more doors we can open (and hopefully keep open), to support amazing talent like you all!

  5. Do I need to be studying Aerospace or Engineering to apply?

Nope. Future Flight is bigger than one path! We welcome coders, artists, storytellers, environmentalists, designers, and anyone who wants to shape the future of Aviation in their own way. Traditional or unconventional - if your passion, interest, and project you’re pitching relates to Future Flight, Sustainable Aviation, or STE(A)M - it counts.

  6. How competitive is it? What are you looking for?

This opportunity isn't about being the “best” on paper. We’re looking for drive, authenticity, and a clear idea of how Flight Crowd’s Scholarships will help you move forward. We want to support people who are genuinely ready to take their next step (whatever that looks like for you). 

​

  7. Can I apply more than once?

Please only submit one application for the one idea you’ll be pitching. You’re welcome to apply again for another project if we offer a Scholarship in the future. This is our first round, so we’ll keep everyone posted on what’s next! If you don’t get selected this time, it’s not the end, and taking this next step along your journey is still a fantastic achievement.
