Open-plan office.

Please provide a brief description of your job:​

 

I have a number of different roles. At Cranfield I am the responsible manager for all staff, finance, research and activities related to aerospace at Cranfield University. I am also the Nin Exec Chair for a Digital Engineering company called CFMS Ltd, the Chairman of Aerospace Bristol Museum and a non exec Director for Graphene business Versarien.


 

​What made you decide to pursue your chosen career path?​

 

I chose Aerospace as a career path because I loved the dream of getting involved with Concorde.

What are the three key skills that are required for your job?

 

Influencing skills, communication skills and broad understanding of aerospace engineering.

What would you say is the biggest misconception about your job?​

 

That it is all about detail engineering.


 

​What advice would you give to a school student who is interested in pursuing a career similar to yours?​

 

Follow your dream.

​If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?​

 

That we all respect each other​.
