Flight Crowd announces changes to the senior leadership team as we scale our ambition

Flight Crowd is an open global community bringing together Urban Air Mobility  (UAM) enthusiasts and experts both to educate and grow the wider public interest in the future of air mobility.

Manchester, United Kingdom, 23 September, 2021 — Flight Crowd Limited today announces two senior appointments, with Robin Brownsell and Stephen Milne joining the company as Directors.

The pair join the not-for-profit as we continue to transition from an informal network to a professional organisation. Their experience and expertise will help Flight Crowd achieve its objectives to inspire, inform and engage communities globally on the topic of air mobility.

Robin has a strong background in bringing disruptive technologies and opportunities to significant infrastructure sectors, by working alongside local and national governments at many levels. Equally, at home in both the corporate and stakeholder spaces, he brings a wealth of visionary experience to the projects he is involved with. Robin’s background in the future of transportation will help Flight Crowd connect with other mobility solutions and better understand the role of aerial mobility in our present and the future.

Robin Brownsell commented, “I am looking forward to working with Mariya and the Flight Crowd team at an incredibly exciting time for the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) sector. Following a decade of development behind the scenes, a brand-new mode of mobility is poised to enter our lives, offering everyone many potential benefits. We now need to share plans and listen to all stakeholder groups to place everyone in a fully informed position about sustainable mobility, and the positive role that UAM will take in the coming years. What it all actually means is nothing will happen without the essential Social Licence to fly — that involves understanding, trust and credibility.”

Stephen has over 30 years of experience in executive management and mentoring at board level. Following an MA in Law from the University of Oxford, he worked in a range of settings and sectors in Higher Education, Government Agencies and Universities, and with entrepreneurs in commercial corporate and SME businesses. His roles as Lead Counsellor with a London Enterprise Agency, and as Director of a government-funded initiative delivered by the Open University to support high growth businesses, have given him breadth and depth of understanding of issues facing businesses and solutions to address them. Stephen has specialised in innovative brand businesses, particularly in business planning, and contract negotiation and dispute resolution internationally. In his role at Flight Crowd, Stephen will focus on our global ambition, international collaboration and business development.

Stephen Milne said, “At this time of change and challenge, we are building on the success of the Flight Crowd network by developing a formal organisation to work with stakeholders and to represent the voice of the wider UAM community. We have exciting initiatives planned, and look forward to working together on these.”

Flight Crowd’s Co-Founder, Mariya Tarabanovska, adds, “It is exciting to see our platform grow and gain the support of our colleagues and the global public! To build on our success and deliver on our ambitious plans, we are now taking a step towards becoming a sustainable organisation and ensuring our objectives are met with the help of senior business executives. I am looking forward to developing Flight Crowd in this new phase!”
